so i went to paris.
and it was amazing.
we left on monday morning on the euro star, arrived in paris, then immediately got on a coach and went to chartes
which has the largest collection of gothic windows in the world.
and then we went to our hotel, checked in, got dinner, and went to the eiffel tower...
which was absolutely incredible. we took a lot of photos, caitlin performed a piece from her broadway musical she is writing, we practiced the cancan, and we attracted a lot of stares from french men, who are by far the raunchiest, horniest men i have ever encountered.
anyway, then we got treats and rode the carousel across from the eiffel tower...
it was magic. pictures really don't do the eiffel tower justice. promise me you'll see it in your lifetime okay??
the next day we woke up early and went to versailles....
where we enjoyed delicious chicken paninis in the gardens.
and then we went to moufetard, where the yummiest food in paris is...
including these ice cream cones, shaped like roses. this was by far the best ice cream i have ever had in my life. it beats disneyland sprinkle cookies & cream cones by a thousand miles, which is saying a lot.
and then we went to the arc de triumph...
where we climbed 300 steps to the top...
and it was well worth it, even if my legs were sore the next day.
the next morning we woke up early and went to notre dame...
and climbed yet another set of 300 steps to the top...
and audrey entertained the crowds by channeling her inner quasimoto.
we then unfortunately lost caitlin, but ventured to montmarde...
we ate delicious ham and cheese crepes for lunch, looked at the cute paintings, and i fell in love with a furry little guy...
then we walked a little ways to find the real moulin rouge, finding a little pastry shop on the way...
yes, it really does exist, and yes, it really is a gentlemen's club.
at this point in our day, we were exhausted beyond description.
we went to the orangerie museum, and i may or may not have taken a little nap on a bench across from the bathrooms.

it was a great museum, seriously though.
the orangerie is right across the street from the louvre...
which was incredible, but hugely overwhelming. note to future paris travelers: do not go to the louvre after a busy day. go in the morning, when you are fresh and alert.
we saw incredible things like these:

peek-a-boo?
and i got called a "bitch" by an angry french woman as i parted the massive crowd surrounding the mona lisa and made my way right to the front. such an american thing to do, i know.
ridiculous.
we found caitlin at the louvre, walked around a bit more, and then went to dinner, and then took a lovely little boat cruise to see the sights one last time. paris is really a charming place, despite the constant stench of urine.
our final day in paris, we spent at euro disney.
call us shallow all you want, but disneyland is good for the soul.
and we needed some uplifting.
it wasn't quite as good as our disneyland, of course, but it was a close second and a perfect day full of hot dogs, ice cream, no lines, and disney magic.
we then got back on the euro star and headed back to london, the place we now call home.

needless to say, paris was a whirlwind trip.
my feet are still tired and i am still exhausted, but it was worth it.
very very worth it.
