i was lucky enough to have her as a teacher for two years, in english 2 accelerated and in yearbook my junior year.
during these two years, before we got into the lesson of the day, we would start out by sharing an alpha/delta.
an alpha is something that is going well in your life.
something you are happy about.
and a delta, is something you wish you could change.
not necessarily something bad, but something you wish was different.
last night, as my roommates and i were enjoying the potato chicken soup i made for dinner, i brought up the concept of alpha/delta and we all went around and chatted about it and made suggestions to fix one another's deltas.
and then, i had a minor epiphany moment.
every single delta discussed at the dinner table could be changed.
they were all self-inflicted or consequences of another action.
we have the power to turn our deltas around.
and what better way change the negative in your life than by identifying it?
so here i am, bringing back the tradition of my high school yearbook editor days.
i'm bringing back the alpha/delta in my life.
daily and publicly, to my blog.
because i believe i can change the negative aspects of my life.
i can turn it around.
alpha: i enjoyed a delicious nonfat sugar free white hot chocolate from juice and java this morning.
delta: my book of mormon class was cancelled this morning.
but i do not need a book of mormon class to read the book of mormon, now do i?
