today we woke up early and went to the keats house and then took a walk through an extremely muddly but scenic park which was full of the most adorable dogs ever. this pair of old ladies walked two standard poodles, one black and one white, and they were wearing puffy sweaters. the dogs, not the old ladies. and then this lady was walking her baby miniature black pug and he had a rainbow sweater on and i usually don't care for pugs too much but this little guy was so cute and he ran right up to me and let me hold him because he knew i loved him. it was maybe the highlight of my day.
another highlight of my day/funny story: audrey, caitlin and i are on the tube with susan, our shakespeare/british literature professor. yesterday at dinner, we were all a little late after returning from our euro chic adventure at the samuel johnson house, so everyone in the center got to see our lovely outfits in full glory. the pictures don't do it much justice, but i did everyone's eye makeup really heavy yesterday to complete our looks. we walked into dinner and got some interesting stares, needless to say. anyway, so this morning we're on the tube and susan tells us how much she liked our makeup. she asks if i did it and i said yes and then she tells me she wants me to do her makeup someday. she is a gem. holding the cute little pug was nice, but my 50-something year old byu professor telling me she wants me to do her eye makeup euro-chic-style was even better.
anyway, our long walk lead us to kenwood house, which is an art gallery. i want to live there, and not because of the art, but because it overlooks this incredible pond and is on acres and acres of lush green landscape and has beautiful mature trees and oh my. the sun was shining and i soaked up some vitamin d and i was really content.
after kenwood we went to camden market which is this charmingly eclectic market with tons of vintage boutiques and knock off designer bags and yummy food. we got chinese food from a street vendor and i loved it and then we went shopping and i bought two dresses, including this one, which i am so in love with i had to post about. i can't wait for summer time, when this dress will be worn, and my skin will be tan and my feet will be freshly pedicured and life will have that carefree feel. summer time is my thriving time. i'm embarrassed to admit that i was thinking of baby names the other day and two names on my fav list are august and summer. what does that say about me?
i just finished skyping with david for three hours. i am kind of embarrassed to admit this because three hours is a long time, but it goes by so fast and i love every minute i can hear him.
he makes my heart happy in a million different ways.
i hope all of you readers have someone in your life who makes your heart skip a few beats.
it's makes life so much sweeter.
