i've been doing a little bit of babysitting this summer. and i really like it. my babies are always well behaved and happy and smell good and like to sit on my lap. makes me happy.
i've been developing a bit of a complex lately about my life and how i'm not engaged, not married, not pregnant, not graduated, etc. it seems like everyone around me has already made these huge life choices and experienced these monumental moments, and i am still waiting for it to happen to me. and i know it will, so i'm not too concerned, but it makes me question my progress and state in life sometimes.
yesterday i served macaroni and cheese for dinner and watched as my sweet little guy took handfuls of the stuff and shoved it in his mouth. macaroni on the floor, macaroni in his hair, macaroni down his shirt, macaroni everywhere. i gave him a bath and put him in his pajamas and he was all clean and cuddly and not sticky again but after the whole event i was kind of exhausted. who knew serving macaroni and cheese could be such an ordeal?
on monday i signed onto byu.edu to check my schedule for fall. my astronomy class conflicted with the john mayer concert i'm attending, so i decided to look for something else to take. i got really ambitious and looked up legal education and practice, and low and behold, there was one seat available. one. and i took that as a sign. i registered.
emma johnson, pre-law.
pray for me.
some people get married at 18, some people have babies at 20, some people go on missions at 21, some people go to law school.
and just maybe i'm one of those.

Emma. Darling. You are only 20 years old. Despite what Mormon culture may tell you, it is not normal for someone at your age to be married, let alone pregnant. Don't forget that.
Emma! I just stumbled upon your blog (reading blogs is my new hobby these days). I LOVE this one! I have the same complex about life right now, so I feel ya sister. And I would just like to say Emma Johnson pre-law sounds perfect!
I can see it now...the next Miss Elle Woods!!! Oh good luck! Hope its just what you were looking for! good for you emma!!!
