unfortunately for me, the internet here is very hot and cold. it either works awesome, or not at all, and yesterday was a not so lucky day. so i'm sorry, when i got home from my adventures i was not able to blog. but i'm making up for it right now.
yesterday we started classes! my first was at 10 which is so nice because i don't have to be up super early. i'm taking religion in the uk, british literature, shakespeare and mythology. so excited.
after classes we took a little walk to the shops right by our house to get some essentials. water bottles, notebooks, etc. there's this mini mall thing called whiteleys which is the beautiful marble building that hitler wanted to make his headquarters but now it's a department store-ish place. there we discovered a french connection store (you would love it mom) and this little booth place that serves waffles with strawberries and chocolate and marshmellows and just about every yummy topping imaginable. needless to say, we will be back.

after whiteleys we came home and had dinner and then planned to go see the show lady in black, which is supposed to be the scariest show in the world, so nine of us got on the tube. i love the tube. i think it is so convenient. but the english are silent on it. it's weird. for the first couple days, we tried to be quiet too, but we are just loud annoying american girls by nature, and sometimes we can't suppress it. anyway, we missed out show by three minutes so we resorted to walking around this beautiful square and getting gelato and then taking another tube ride to see big ben. as soon as we walked out of the tube exit, big ben was right in front of us. like really, right smack there. it was amazing and so beautiful. i'm glad we went at night because we got to see the magic of big ben and the london eye lit up.

london is so glorious. really, i hope you see it someday. and i hope you see it as i am seeing it, with the company of fun great people who make you laugh til your abs hurt. i am happy and at peace and full of optimism about life.
